Trekking permits in Nepal, explained

Most treks need a TIMS card plus a national park or conservation permit. Restricted areas such as Manaslu and Upper Mustang add a separate permit that a registered agency must apply for on your behalf. Carry passport copies and extra passport photos; checkpoints along the trail will ask for them.
